Scudamore’s Punting Company first introduced pleasure punting to the city in the early 20th century.
Remaining true to Jack Scudamore’s original vision, they work to ensure that the River Cam can be enjoyed by all, offering traditional boating services to residents and visitors alike.

Tickets include a 45-minute chauffeured river tour of the famous Cambridge College Backs.
Tickets can be redeemed at one of two locations on the river. Scudamore’s have two pontoons in the city, located at Quayside and Mill Lane.

Open: 364 days a year, conditions permitting
Tours run daily, except Christmas Day.
Hours: 09:00am until dusk
Closing times reflect the changing seasons.
Tours depart every 15-30 minutes. Punts can seat up to 12 people and are dressed with cushions and blankets. They come equipped with additional blankets and umbrellas in case the weather changes.
Availability is usually best on weekdays and weekend mornings. On weekend and bank holiday afternoons tours are sometimes fully subscribed for up to 2 hours in advance. Where this occurs, they reserve you places on a tour for later in the day, leaving you free to explore Cambridge. It is recommend that you then return to the station 5 – 10 minutes before your scheduled tour time.
